P.A.T. Testing

PAT testing, or Portable Appliance Testing, is a procedure that ensures electrical appliances are safe for use by examining them for potential faults or defects and visual inspection of cables and plugs including the correct rated fuse for the appliance. Although it is not a legal requirement, but it's highly recommended for various reasons, including reducing the risk of electrical accidents, meeting landlord obligations, and complying with workplace safety regulations. 

Record keeping

A record is kept of the item such as its identifier number, Date of the test, if it is a PASS or FAIL, the name of the tester. Keeping the appliances testing history.

It is recommended that the testing is carried out on an annual basis, some products it may be more or less depending on its frequency of use and the environment it is in.
